Faure and Moore: Requiems

Of the many settings of the Requiem, Gabriel Fauré’s is perhaps the most widely loved. It is its very quality of understatement that contributes to the work’s universal appeal. Philip Moore retired as organist of York Minster in 2008 but has continued to be active as a composer and performer. We are delighted to be performing his new setting of the Requiem a few months after its London premiere by the BBC Singers.
