Ben Rowarth: Night Prayer: Compline Renewed
Venue:
York Minster
Admission: Free
Ben Rowarth's 'Night Prayer: Compline Renewed' sets the entire liturgy of compline. It is a through-composed setting which also examines themse of intimacy, fear, life and death. Written for two choirs, it explores ways that sound can be experienced in different parts of sacred spaces. This is the second performance of the work, following its London premiere at the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music, who commissioned the work.
Ben was winner of the National Centre of Early Music's Young Composers Award in 2012 with his piece 'Where is now thy God' and is a former member of The Ebor Singers.
