Paul Gameson
B.A., M.A., PhD
Paul has enjoyed singing from an early age, when he was a chorister
at St Georges Chapel, Windsor. He spent his GAP year singing
at Hereford Cathedral before reading music at the University of
York, achieving a BA and MA. For the last six years he has been
a member of the Choir of York Minster, and has just completed a
doctorate in music at the University of York.
He directs two vocal ensembles, the Ebor
Singers (based in York), and Harmonie Universelle, which have
both appeared in the York Early Music Festival, and he has also
sung with Corona Coloniensis, a German specialist early music choir,
and Red Byrd. Currently he is Publications Research Officer for
the York
Early Music Press, based at the University of York and runs
his own music type setting business, PGMusicTips.
He enjoys listening to jazz, funk, and the film music of John Barry,
drinking real ale, browsing the bookshops of Hay-on-Wye, and wandering
aimlessly round Paris.
